         Special Needs Trust (pooled) for

Senior & Disabled

New York Relief for Elderly and disabled (NYRED) administers a special type of trust that  provides individuals with disabilities, an alternative to the Medicaid “spend down” by  not sending in their excess income to their local social services. Through this program Trust members would send their “spend down” to the trust and the Trust will pay for bills that are for the benefit o fthe trust consumers. This allows a beneficiary of any age to become financially eligible, while preserving their monthly income in trust for living expenses and supplemental needs.
